Licensed programs for the Facility:
Preschool Program:
- Ages 2.5 to 5 years old ( child must be 3 years of age by December 31 of the current year that family is registering for.)
- Two classes per day:
- Morning Class: 8:30 am to 11:30 am
- Afternoon Class: 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
- Monday to Thursday and Friday mornings
- Up to 20 preschool children to attend each class and three Early Childhood Educators
- Closed all statutory holidays, one week of Christmas, one week of Spring Break, and July & August of each year
- Program will provide a structured environment that will meet the needs of each child by experiencing all levels of opportunities of growth and exploration
- Handbook will be provided at orientation day, staff will go through all areas with each family
- Children are not required to be toilet trained upon entry
Areas of Learning:
- Social skills will be developed through play experiences, peer interactions, teacher led activities, as well as small group choices.
- Cognitive development and growth by providing opportunities for children to sing, dress up, engage in story time, share personal stories, encourage literacy with open-ended questions, science exploration, cooking activities, introduce children to community helpers by inviting guests into the facility.
- Provide a nurturing environment that meets the emotional needs of each child
- Positive and consistent communication with families on a daily basis, as well as family meetings when needed throughout the preschool year
- Encouragement of each child's unique learning needs
- Age -appropriate planned learning activities that foster their development and curiosity.
- Hands on learning each class: blocks, puzzles, playdough, book and quiet corner, art activities, music, outdoor play, exploring their environment with patient guidance and fostering their each child's imagination
- Large and open fenced outdoor space that facilitates gross motor, foster social relationships, process and make sense of their world around them.
- Parent participation field trips
- Community guests to facilitate learning opportunities
Afterschool Program:
- Ages 5 - 12 years of age
- 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, Monday through Friday
- Licensed for 24 children per day
- Closed all statutory holidays, ( Christmas Break for one week)
- Program will provide all-day care for all professional development days, spring break ,school closures and summer months of July and August
- Program will provide a healthy snack each afterschool day, on all-day care days families will provide the lunch for their child
- Program will provide a safe and age-appropriate environment that children will look forward to attending each day
The afterschool program will provide:
- Encouragement of self-expression when feeling overwhelmed from the school day
- Help and support with homework
- Space and time for quiet time and study if necessary
- Recreational and physical activities to constructively channel children's energy after a long day of sitting in class
- Free time activities that are age-appropriate: games, arts and crafts, puzzles, books, outside time
- Enriching, creative activities by including the children to make the decisions of what they would like to have at the program
- Monthly meetings to hear how the children feel about their program and what activities they would like to see.
- Kitchen to provide cooking activities
- Community guests to facilitate learning for different age groups
Infant / Toddler Program
Caring for infant/ toddlers ages 12 months to 36 months. Currently a waitlist is in place until late 2025/early 2026. ****Applicants will be notified if space will be available in the coming year that parent has applied for.
